UNISON LG Pay update

As you will be aware now following 44 hours of intense negotiations both with COSLA and the Deputy First Minister last week we were sent a revised offer from COSLA yesterday which is attached.

Your LG Committee met yesterday to consider this offer and agreed to put it to members in an electronic consultative ballot, which will start imminently, with a recommendation to reject.  The reasons for the recommendation are outlined in our letter to COSLA, also attached.  The Committee also took the decision to continue with the strike action already notified to councils to date whilst the consultation is underway.

The UNISON Stirling branch is calling all members to meet this week on an online meeting this Thursday 1st September at 6p.m. The link for this meeting is below,

It is essential that all members attend this meeting, particularly those in Waste and Early Years and Education who will be joining our Waste Workers who have already stood up for the masses and who have participated in industrial action over the weekend to push for a fairer/reasonable pay deal for all Local Government Workers. The following dates for action are as follows:-

  • 6th, 7th, 8th September- All Schools and Early Years Workers
  • 7th,8th, 9th, 10th September- Waste Workers

The Cost-of-Living Crisis is hitting people across the country. Public service workers in particular are facing a fresh set of real terms pay cuts on top of years of stagnating wages.

There will be a Rally at the Scottish Parliament on Thursday 8th September 11.30 – 1pm the UNISON Stirling Branch is currently working towards scheduling a bus to take UNISON Stirling members and some of those that will be out on strike to this Rally. Further detail on this will follow. If you would like to attend please e-mail the branch directly as seats will be limited on the bus.

Join us, as we join with other Trade Unions to demand better for the public service workers of Scotland.

Please keep up to date with the latest information on our UNISON Stirling website and UNISON Stirling Facebook page.
